Fifteen years ago, we walked through the doors of this motel for the first time, simply looking for a place to put down our bags. What a surprise to see that they welcomed us, even though we didn’t even have a reservation. On top of that, the rooms are equipped with a kitchen, which, needless to say, is super practical when you have kids.
Since then, each year has become a moment we eagerly look forward to. Even my teenagers still want to come back to Les studios de la mer.
It’s right on the water, which is a huge plus for our family. It’s not just the cleanliness or comfort of the rooms that keeps us coming back, but the sincere and warm welcome from the owners.
Over the years, this motel has become much more than just a stopover, it’s a refuge, a place where we feel at home, away from home.
We’re grateful for those moments of tranquility and comfort, but above all, for having Isabelle and Jovany (the amazing owners) as friends now.

After visiting Les studios de la mer several times for work, I can definitely recommend this hidden gem. Isabelle always goes above and beyond to make her guests feel welcome, and she is very accommodating. Located less than 10 minutes by car from Matane, it’s an ideal place for anyone seeking serenity.
As for the apartments, they are impeccable, with a cozy chalet-like atmosphere. Each one is equipped with everything needed to cook. Since I often travel for work, I truly appreciated being independent and able to prepare my own meals. And the name says it all: you’ll wake up to a breathtaking view of the St. Lawrence River.
Coming from the North Shore, I felt right at home here.
